In less than two weeks, 14 students will go to the U.S. as the first group to participate in the SAYA program. While in the U.S., the students will give presentations sharing various aspects of life and culture in China.From presentations about food to martial arts to daily life as a student, the Chinese students are excited about going to the U.S., attending an American high school for a week and sharing a little of China with their new friends.
As students begin the new semester. Some are going back to school with fond memories from their Spring Festival holiday. Fourteen students and one teacher, Ms. Einhe He, were the first-ever participants of the Ameson Foundation’s latest exchange program the Sino-American Youth Ambassadors program, or SAYA.
Students will finally be able to make their voices heard! The first edition of the Ameson-sponsored newspaper, The Voice, is complete!
Ameson Foundation and Jinling High School Hexi Branch co-hosted a Christmas party on Christmas Day, 2009 to familiarize students with Western culture and also to celebrate the holiday season.
Several students at the Ameson Institute in Nanjing have been admitted to U.S. universities through Early Decision.
Students enrolled in the U.S. High School Program at Ameson Institute in Nanjing took a trip to Hong Kong during December 4 - 6 to take the SAT Reasoning Test. The SAT took place on December 5 at the Hong Kong Taoist Association The Yuen Yuen Institute No. 2 Secondary School, a SAT test center located in Tai Po, New Territories, Hong Kong.
The AP courses at Ameson are taught in English. The program lasts from July to the following May, and students spend almost a year preparing for the exams hopeful to experience university life in the US.
In addition to Ameson's highest number of students taking AP Exams, the 2009 AP class now also has the most students from Ameson to receive awards from the College Board. Eleven of the 16 students who took AP exams in 2009 received awards and special recognition based on the number of tests taken and their scores. Tests taken include English literature, economics, calculus and even physics. "It is clear indicator that of the outstanding ability of our students and the high quality of instruction by the teachers, Prof. Sean Zhang says.
August 24 was the start of Ameson’s teacher orientation week where teachers, new and old, participated in workshops, seminars and even a little bit of socializing. With 11 new teachers joining Ameson across 7 schools in Jiangsu and Anhui Province, Ameson's presence in the education community continues to expand in China. In the view of Prof. Sean Zhang, the Deputy Chairman of the Ameson Foundation, “Ameson is pleased, with the quality of the educators we have arranged, for our 2009-2010 school year programs in Jiangsu and Anhui.
